Frederik Byrn Køhlert

Frederik Byrn Køhlert is a doctoral candidate at the University of Montreal’s Department of English. His research examines how comics autobiography has in the last few decades provided important new ways for women and minority artists to assert subjectivity and contend with hegemonic ideas concerning the representation of gender, trauma, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and disability. He is the author of several comics-related articles and encyclopedia articles, as well as a book entitled The Chicago Literary Experience: Writing the City, 1893–1953.
