David Gudmundsson is a Doctor of Theology and Research Fellow in Church History at Lund University, and lecturer in Religious Studies at Jönköping University. In his award-winning dissertation, Konfessionell krigsmakt. Predikan och bön i den svenska armén 1611-1721, Gudmundsson studied preaching and prayer in the Swedish army during the 17th and early 18th centuries. Current research projects involve a monograph on the cathedral chapter of the diocese of Lund 1658–1710, an annotated edition of a Swedish chaplain’s diary from the Nine Years’ War (1688–1697), and a micro-historic study of a Swedish country parish in the early 20th century.
