Erin La Cour is a PhD candidate at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA), and currently a guest researcher at the University of Copenhagen’s department of Arts and Cultural Studies. Using the personal narrative graphic novel as a lens, her dissertation is an exploration and critique of the ways in which cultural memory is constructed and which histories are recorded into “the Archive.” Her most recent publication on the topic, “The Interface of the Graphic Novel,” appeared in I Read Where I Am (Amsterdam: Valiz, 2011). Additionally, Erin is a docent in the English Language and Literature department at the University of Amsterdam, is affiliated with the Dutch Art Institute (DAI) and the Royal Academy of Art (KABK), and is an editor of the Scandinavian Journal of Comic Art (SJoCA).
