Jani Ylönen is a doctoral candidate at the University of Jyväskylä. He is working on a dissertation, titled The Changing Landscapes of Human and Non-Human – Gene Technology, Feminist Posthumanism, and Representation in Contemporary Science Fiction. Ylönen is interested in ethical questions raised by technology and the various creatures affected by the changing world and technology, from humans to dogs and dragons, whether on the pages of novels, short stories, or comics.
