Dan Hassler-Forest works as assistant professor of media studies and cultural theory at Utrecht University. In his teaching and research, he explores the relationship between fantastic fiction, fandom, and capitalism. He is the author of several books and is the co-editor of the book series “Transmedia: Media Convergence and Participatory Culture” at Amsterdam University Press. His most recent monograph Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Politics (Rowman & Littlefield, 2016) focuses on the radical political potential of fantastic transmedia storyworlds.
